Pre-K

Inspiring a Love of Learning

At The Learning Grove Academy, we believe Pre-K is a magical time when curiosity and creativity take center stage. Our play-based curriculum encourages hands-on exploration, teamwork, and self-expression—laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. And for families at our Troy and Westfield centers, our Montessori classrooms offer Pre-K students the chance to dive deeper into self-directed activities, helping them build independence, critical thinking, and confidence.

Every day, your child will have opportunities to explore, create, and grow through activities like:

  • Art
  • Music
  • Movement
  • Language

These experiences help children strengthen essential academic, social, and emotional skills while becoming an active part of our classroom community.

Explore, Discover, and Grow

Our Pre-K program blends classroom learning with outdoor exploration, encouraging kids to follow their curiosity and build key skills. Whether through playful group activities or independent discovery, children are supported every step of the way.

In the classroom, they might:

  • Play letter and number games that build early literacy and math skills
  • Explore basic math concepts with hands-on tools
  • Strengthen fine motor skills through creative projects like bead threading and painting

Outside, activities could include:

  • Embark on nature scavenger hunts to spark curiosity
  • Boost gross motor skills with fun, active play
  • Strengthen problem-solving abilities while exploring their surroundings

In our Montessori Pre-K classrooms, children take ownership of their learning—choosing activities that align with their interests while developing focus, independence, and a love of discovery.
